SMART Data
Let ReStoring Data keep your hard drive safe and healthy, for free!
SMART Data is a disk utility that checks and monitors the status of your hard drives to help prevent data loss. The system is based on S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology; often written as SMART) is a monitoring system for computer hard disk drives to detect and report on various indicators of reliability, in the hope of anticipating failures.
Hard disk failures fall into one of two basic classes:
-
Predictable failures: These failures result from slow processes such as mechanical wear and gradual degradation of storage surfaces. Monitoring can determine when such failures are becoming more likely.
-
Unpredictable failures: These failures happen suddenly and without warning. They range from electronic components becoming defective to a sudden mechanical failure (perhaps due to improper handling).
SMART Data can help predict when a hard drive is about to fail, giving you the chance to backup your data before disaster strikes.
SMART Data can be configured to perform e-mail notification when a SMART attribute has been detected to be less than the allowable threshold value.
- Based on Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology (S.M.A.R.T.)
- Displays current S.M.A.R.T. attributes
- Can be launched automatically at Windows startup and monitor the disk(s) in the background
- Sends an email and displays a message when it uncovers a disk-related problem
- Provides standard hard disk information such as model/serial number, capacity, free space, health status, temperature, number of sectors, cylinders, heads, tracks and so on
- Event logs flags events that may indicate that data is in
- Monitors temperature and keep the history of temperature measures and draw a temperature graph
- Easy to use user interface
Compatibility
ReStoring Data SMART Data is available free of charge. The system requires a working installation of Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, 2003, Vista, or Windows 7.
Why Us?
This SMART Data tool is faster and far more accurate than other SMART monitoring software on the market. Our Research and Development (R&D) department has developed it to ensure there is a totally FREE option with which users can manage their hard drives.
